Dead pig.
My neighbor dead pig.

Found in my neighbors backyard.

When I asked them about it they said "yeah we know".

When I advised them that it was a somewhat concernable thing that someone may concider contacting the animal police thingy over they said "oh well we're just feeding it to the dogs".

This is not kentucky. This is capital hill. Leaving a dead pig in your backyard so your dogs can at some point eat it is pretty unacceptable.

SPD will prolly come out and make them get rid of it. If I do call though then they might figure out that I did since I talked to them about it... idk. If they're that crazy who knows what they might do to me if I made them get rid of their dog food.

you should call animal control. they probably wont do anything to you. if you wont call will you give me their address and ill walk by and then call? :p youre right when you say its unacceptable - its completely unacceptable and definitely in violation of laws. not to mention quite likely unsafe for the dogs. i mean i feed my dog raw meat at times, but raw meat that was frozen (or if it was right away fresh) is a lot different then meat thats been sitting outside for days.

Yeah, I think most dogs kill their food before they eat it or at the least they eat things that have died pretty recently.

What kind of dogs are they? O_o

dogs are scavengers and will eat anything, even days old flesh, they aren't picky about those sorts of things. given the chance to run wild in the city they'd be feeding from the trash.

that said, this is pretty gross. i live a few doors down from this place and am totally creeped out by the redneck vibe i'm getting from this. is that a banjo i hear playing?

d'oh. i only currently have my cellphone to do 98% of my browsing, and it doesn't automatically expand threaded comments unless i click the link and then sit and wait for 60+ seconds... i hadn't noticed them

but honestly i don't think most of the seattle snarkers would even glare at someone in person let alone dial a phone number to commence mischief =P

this would be more a health department issue - animal control would only be concerned if the swine was alive, and rampaging down broadway.
best thing to do would be to dump a couple of bags of bbq charcoal on it, a quart of gasoline, and run away throwing matches at it

mm I think the animal control is more of a concern for the safety of the dogs that will be consuming dead pig action. You're probably right though. that's liekly not animal control either, but some other branch of animal right somethign or other. Maybe someone should call PETA.

"This is not kentucky. This is capital hill."

I just moved out here from Louisville, KY, and this sentence made me bust a gut. Unfortunately, your statement is completely inaccurate. In Kentucky, we eat the dead yard pigs ourselves. The dogs only get scraps. Those pansies on Capitol Hill don't know what they're missing.
